Who I Help

I work with adult individuals located throughout the state of Virginia via telehealth, or in person in my office in Leesburg. I help people navigating complex emotions tied to:

  • Betrayal trauma and infidelity
  • Pornography or sex addiction
  • Family-of-origin pain and attachment wounds
  • Emotional disconnection or relational confusion
  • Religious and spiritual trauma
  • Recovery from toxic shame and inner criticism

Group Therapy

Community and connection are powerful parts of the healing process. I offer professionally led groups focused on topics like addiction, betrayal trauma, relational growth, and emotional resilience. Group work can help you feel less alone, gain new perspectives, and practice vulnerability in a supportive setting.

Current Groups: Monday night online men's processing group 7:30-9pm.

*This group is a supportive group for men wanting to focus on how they show up in relationships, help heal a relationship from betrayal or addiction, or want to change relationship patterns in the future.

Why Work With Jenna Young, MA, LPC, ASAT?

There are many therapists out there—but what makes working with me different is the way I guide therapy with focus, structure, and heart.

I view it as my responsibility to help you clarify your goals and then intentionally structure each session to move you forward.

What You Can Expect From Me

  • Focused, Goal-Oriented Therapy
Every session builds on the last. I track our work, connect the dots, and bring a cohesive vision to your healing process.
  • Down-to-Earth and Relatable
I'm normal, real, and easy to talk to. I believe that laughter when appropriate, can help break down barriers- making difficult conversations a little easier.
  • Clinically Informed and Always Learning
I’m a lifelong learner who’s invested hundreds of hours into advanced clinical training.
  • Skilled at Pattern Recognition
My strength lies in making the implicit explicit. I help you uncover the emotional, relational, and behavioral patterns that keep you stuck—so we can shift them at the root.
  • Direct, Honest, and Kind
I hold space with compassion, but I don’t shy away from telling the truth. Expect a warm, non-judgmental presence and the kind of honesty that leads to change.
  • Respectful of Your Time and Boundaries
I value your time, energy, and effort. I model the healthy boundaries I hope to help you develop in your own life.
  • Modalities: I have taken trainings in a wide range of modalities that I draw from to include: Internal Family Systems (IFS), Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and more.

Areas of focus

Betrayal Trauma

Betrayal trauma happens when someone you deeply rely on violates your trust- often through affairs, pornography use, secrecy, or emotional withdrawal. You need specialized experience to navigate the complexities that betrayal creates. The emotional pain is often accompanied by anxiety, flashbacks, hypervigilance, or shutdown. I have spent thousands of hours helping people navigate the aftermath of betrayal. I offer my expertise in providing a supportive space to process the shock, pain, and confusion while helping you rebuild safety, strength, and a sense of self.

In betrayal trauma therapy, we focus on:

  • Emotional stabilization and grounding
  • Rebuilding self-trust and body awareness
  • Processing grief, anger, and confusion
  • Navigating choices around staying, leaving, or separating
  • Understanding trauma responses (fight, flight, fawn, freeze)
  • Setting and maintaining boundaries

Affairs, Infidelity & Relationship Recovery

Whether you're the one who strayed or the one who was betrayed, the impact of infidelity is a deep pain that is indescribable until it happens in your life. You need trusted support to help navigate the confusing valley of affairs. With my extensive experience in affair recovery, I bring focus and clarity to explore what happened, help you understand patterns, attachments, set boundaries and work toward healing, and accountability.

Focus areas include:

  • Infidelity recovery (emotional and sexual affairs)
  • Full Therapeutic Disclosure/ Post-disclosure stabilization
  • Rebuilding emotional safety and sexual integrity
  • Honest communication and reestablishing boundaries
  • Trauma and grief processing
  • Travel and safety plans for moving forward

Family-of-Origin and Attachment Work

Understand how your earliest relationships shape your patterns today—and reclaim your power to choose.

We don’t always realize how much our past is still present. Family-of-origin therapy helps you identify how childhood dynamics, attachment wounds, enmeshment, codependency, emotional neglect, or over-control impact your adult relationships, self-worth, and triggers.

In this work, we focus on:

  • Reparenting wounded parts of yourself
  • Healing inner criticism and toxic guilt
  • Building emotional boundaries with family members
  • Disentangling from family dysfunction
  • Learning how to feel safe in adult intimacy

Accelerated Resolution Therapy- Trauma Modality

Quick, effective trauma treatment that doesn’t require retelling the whole story.

ART is beneficial for:

  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Anxiety and panic
  • Grief and loss
  • Phobias
  • Intrusive memories
  • Betrayal trauma
  • Negative self-beliefs
  • Childhood trauma
